IMPACT® Tube Feeding Features and Clinical Benefits
Each of the IMPACT® formulas differs from all other tube feeding formulas because they contain a unique and patented blend of arginine, omega 3 fats and dietary nucleotides. A full range of IMPACT® formula options are available to allow health care practitioners to tailor nutritional support therapies to meet the needs of specific patient populations. Options available include:
- 1.0 cal/mL: IMPACT® and IMPACT® with Fiber
- 1.3 cal/mL: IMPACT® with Glutamine
- 1.5 cal/mL: IMPACT® 1.5
- With fiber (a blend of Benefiber® soluble fiber and soy fiber): IMPACT® with Fiber and IMPACT® Glutamine
- Without fiber - IMPACT® and IMPACT® 1.5
- Semi-elemental - IMPACT® Glutamine
- Intact protein - IMPACT®, IMPACT® with Fiber, IMPACT® 1.5
- All formulations contain NutriShield® microbial protection.
The early and appropriate use of IMPACT® enteral tube feeding formula has been shown in a number of clinical trials to reduce the risk of post-operative and/or post-traumatic injury infection. It has also been shown that surgical patients receiving IMPACT® had significantly fewer wound healing complications than patients receiving standard formula.
